Pear and chocolate Tarte Tatin

Ingredients:

80 g of unsalted butter
100 g of white sugar
50 g of brown sugar
1 tbsp of vanilla essence
50 g of chocolate chips
5 pears
1 tbsp of ground cinnamon
1 pack of readymade puff pastry

Preparation Time:

15 min

Cooking Time:

25 min

Preheat the oven to 180° (gas mark 6).

Melt the butter in a pan then add the two types of sugar, and leave to caramelise. Add the vanilla essence, and reduce for another minute.

Pour the caramel into a tart mould and arrange the pears, peeled and cut into quarters, on top.

Sprinkle with the chocolate chips and cinnamon.

To finish simply lay the puff pastry circle on top of the pears, taking care to push the edges down between the fruit and the rim of the mould.

Place in the oven and cook for around 25 minutes.

Enjoy while still warm
